I have been staying up late every night to watch the Olympics. It would not be a big deal if I did not have to get up at 6:15am every morning. I am only getting 4-6 hrs of sleep every night and it is starting to ware on me. I just can’t stop watching.
I justify it by saying “the Olympics only come once every 4-years so I can stay up and watch”. I have also been really busy with other projects as well so it was had a compound effect on me. I feel like all I have been doing this week is working and watching the Olympics. It has left me no time to play poker, watch training videos, or even read 2+2 or stoxpoker blog.
Speaking of the Olympics, Usian Bolt is amazing. I love the track and field events and it is crazy how much faster Bolt is then his competition. He easily broke the 100m world record. But the big news is the 200m where he broke the world record set by Michael Johnson. Most experts though that no one would be able to break that record for many more years, but Bolt proved them wrong. Bolt was even running into a head wind so I think he could go lower in both the 100m and 200m. I was just an amazing race.
I will be happy and sad when the Olympics are gone, but I still have a few more days to enjoy all the great competition as well as the pain of getting up in the morning with 4 hours of sleep. I am tired just from watching the Olympics.
The long weekend was fun and it was also my b-day on the 1st. My wife took me out to the Chart House. I had Steaks and Lobster tail. It was the first time I had lobster and it was really good, though I think the Steak from Fix in Vegas was better. For the 4th I went to a lagoon with my friends. My wife was not feeling good, so she said back at the house and let me hang with the guys. They grilled up some food and we watched the fireworks. I wish my wife was there, but it was fun anyways.
Well, this is obvious to any serious poker player, but the WSOP 2008 started on May 31, 2008 and goes until Mid July. I have never played any WSOP event or even been to Vegas when WSOP was going on. My goal is to play in a WSOP event in either 2009 or 2010. I really want to go down and watch next year if I don’t qualify to play.
