Friends want to play poker part-time

Posted by photojake On August - 18 - 2008

After church on Sunday, I saw a few old friends that I play some home games with.  They want to get together and play some poker again.  The other surprising thing was that they both want to start playing more as a part time job.

Now, I know that they both totally overestimate there poker abilities, as do I, but they are perfect for this site since they would be consider donkeys at this point in there poker life.  I am not trying to put down or offend them, but I just want to be realistic.  I would say that they are long shots to do well in poker, or even be able to put in the hours to develop there game, but you never know.

Tommy Ngo actually could be good if he learns the game and puts in some time.  He as fearless and good at adjusting to his opponents.

Isaac is the other guy that wants to play part-time.  I have not played much with him so I don’t assume much from his skills.

I would love them to join me on my attempt to be a pro poker player and also to write on this blog.  They can’t be any worse writers than I am so by default it should only add to the quality of the blog.

  1. Thomas Ngo Said,

overestimating my poker abilities? Jake, I just came back from Hawaiian Garden and won $140 in two hours and Isaac got $60 in two hours…we are not that far from you. Las Vegas…four days ago, I came away with $260 in less than six hours. That was this week, which doesnt compare to last week….Isaac won close to $700 (modest estimate) last week at HG.
